Shiatsu uses light finger pressure to soften muscles and address the body’s energy channels. This draws the body’s attention to certain areas and encourages relaxation, relieves pain, and returns it to a state where it can function properly. Myofascial release uses stretching movements to release fascia and scar tissue that is bound to surrounding structures. This helps increase range of motion, and improves balance and function. Neuromuscular therapy uses varying amounts of pressure on and around muscle spasms to alleviate the spasm and discomfort. Ear, Nose and Tail work utilizes light circular finger movements to release tension, calm the horse, and gently stimulate nerves. |
Massage |
My Approach: Listen: Identify the areas holding tension and lacking movement. Connect: Connect with the horse on a physical and mental level, engaging his/her body and mind so he/she is actively involved in the healing process. Follow: I let the horse tell me where he/she is hurting and having difficulty so the root of the problem can be addressed. This produces longer lasting results. Influence: The horse allows me to influence his/her muscles and encourage his/her body to heal. I do not force change, allowing your horse to release tension instead of creating more. |
