Water can help horses recover from both acute and chronic conditions, as well as prevent soreness, stiffness, and injury. I can work with you and your veterinarian, farrier, trainer, or other equine professionals to develop a hydrotherapy regimen for your horse. |

Treatments: ~ Moist heat: uses warm water on certain parts of the body to induce relaxation of the muscles and ~ improve circulation. Epsom salt or essential oils can be added to help detoxify the body. ~ Dry heat: uses rice packs on the body. Has similar effects as the moist heat but is tolerated ~ better by some horses. This is also better for cold, damp days when moist heat cannot be used. ~ Cold treatments use cold water and/or ice. This is beneficial for stimulating the circulatory ~ system, addressing heat illnesses, and reducing swelling. ~ Reflex therapy: uses a combination of cold and hot over particular sites on the body to stimulate ~ organ function. |
