About Me |
I graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Ecology, with an emphasis in Fish and Wildlife Management from Montana State University. While there I had additional courses in equine lameness, Western and English equitation, diseases of domestic livestock, reproduction of domestic animals, forages, small pasture management, and principles of animal breeding and genetics. In my time outside of the classroom I played competitive English polo, and was a member of both the United States Polo Association and Intercollegiate Horse Show Association. I have experience in Western and English disciplines, including working as a wrangler at a guest ranch in Wyoming. During college I witnessed first hand the positive effects massage and craniosacral therapies had on horses. With horses as my initial teachers, I learned the importance of getting to know them as individuals and understanding their unique needs and desires. This led me to pursue formal training and a career in equine bodywork. I received my equine massage therapy certification from Prairie Winds Equine Massage College in Loveland, Colorado. This is a comprehensive program covering western and eastern massage techniques, hoof care, horse handling, pathophysiology, anatomy, and movement. Additional Training: ~ Equine craniosacral therapy from Maureen Rogers ~ Equine sports trainer certification and hydrotherapy training through ~ Aspen Equine Studies, Inc. ~ Animal communication from Awanee Russell |
